📖 About Lavender

The queen of calm. Lavender has been a cornerstone of herbal medicine for centuries — beloved for its fragrance and its ability to soothe the restless spirit.

⚕️ Uses & Remedies

Sleep support, anxiety relief, headache remedy, skin healing, insect repellent. Infuse in honey, steep as tea, or dry for sachets and dream pillows.

🌱 Growing Tips

Plant in full sun with well-drained, slightly alkaline soil. Lavender hates wet feet — sandy or gravelly soil is ideal. Prune after flowering to keep plants compact. Hardy in zones 5–9. Start from cuttings for true-to-type plants.

🔬 Preparation Notes

Harvest when flower buds are just beginning to open for the strongest essential oil content. Dry upside-down in small bundles away from direct sunlight. Store in glass jars.

🕯️ Spiritual Reflection

Lavender teaches us that peace is not passive — it is cultivated. Like this plant that thrives in poor soil and full sun, our faith grows strongest when conditions are hard and the light is direct. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you." — John 14:27
